The History
We are proud to be a part of the history, and evolving future, of MacKenzie Beach Resort, Tinwis Beach, and the District of Tofino.
In the 1920s, Donald MacKenzie, a Vimy Ridge veteran and lighthouse keeper at Lennard point, purchased a section of beach and the land our resort exists on today. In the 1960s Bob and Doris MacKenzie purchased the land and started the MacKenzie Beach Resort, providing an unforgettable experience to adventurers and vacationers from around the world.
In 2017, we took ownership of the resort, carrying on a legacy that Bob and Doris started in providing unforgettable experiences in a truly spectacular place. The main thing that we sought to preserve is the adventurous spirit and experience of the West Coast lifestyle. We are a locally operated business that is proud to be able to show people from around the world why Tofino is the greatest place on Earth.
The IMPROVEMENTS
Since taking over the resort of 2017, we have done major renovations and we have plenty of new and exciting developments on the way to make your stay even better!
Past Improvements Include:
Modern, renovated airstreams with new outdoor decks and hot tubs and other amenities
Recently added surf bungalows with outdoor decks and hot tubs and other amenities
Major renovations of cabins, updating interiors and adding outdoor decks with additional amenities
Completely renovated main building
New washing machines and dryers for resort visitors
