BC FERRIES ROUTES TO NANAIMO: IDEAL FOR TRAVELLERS FROM VANCOUVER
HORSESHOE BAY (WEST VANCOUVER) TO DEPARTURE BAY (NANAIMO):
This route takes approximately 1 hour and 35 minutes. Departure Bay is conveniently located near downtown Nanaimo. For this route you must have a Reservation in order to travel when leaving from Horseshoe Bay, reservations not required when returning via Departure Bay.
Note for Foot Passengers: This route is ideal and recommended as there are public transportation options to get to Tofino from Departure Bay. Explore transit options on the Bus & Shuttles page.
TSAWWASSEN (SOUTH OF VANCOUVER) TO DUKE POINT (SOUTH OF NANAIMO)*:
This crossing also takes about 2 hours and is ideal for travelers coming from southern Vancouver or the U.S. border. Reservations are highly recommended.
Note for Foot Passengers: This route does not have any public transportation services available in Duke Point.
**One way Seasonal Service from Tsawwassen – Departure Bay is also available
OTHER BC FERRIES ROUTES: FOR THOSE IN POWELL RIVER OR VISITING VICTORIA
TSAWWASSEN (SOUTH OF VANCOUVER) TO VICTORIA (SWARTZ BAY):
This ferry route takes 1 hour and 35 minutes and arrives in Sidney – about 30 min north of Victoria’s downtown. From Swartz Bay it is about a 4 hour 30 minute drive. Reservations are highly recommended.
WESTVIEW (POWELL RIVER) TO LITTLE RIVER (COMOX):
This route from the Sunshine Coast takes 1.5 hours. Reservations are highly recommended.
